Vajazzling your Vajazzle!

I did a post back in September 2012 about Vajazzling called Vaj What?  (Click here to read it)   Now back then it was all rather new to me and I couldn’t see the fascination with “bejewelling” your privates with Swarovsky crystals.

I mean why would you want to have scratchy crystals adorning your nether regions.  And for what purpose?  Would that someone special really want them interfering with what he or she has in mind for down there.  Imagine trying to kiss a bunch of crystals – Awkward!   Not to mention that they may get a mouthful.  And I cant imagine the glue tastes any good either.

But the other day I went for my monthly facial and my beauty therapist handed me a card introducing their new service – Vajazzling!  She was rather shocked when I stopped her and said I know exactly what it is and I’ve blogged about it before.

But as I walked out I found myself strangely curious – perhaps I should try it out – just once!

Jennifer Love Hewitt apparently coined the term Vajazzling and I managed to find the Conan interview with her – it is very entertaining so enjoy…..

Red Shoes (and nails)!

So I did a post last week about some new shoes I bought (Lady in Red).  Yeah – they are kinda sexy.  And I am quite amazed at the comments I have been receiving about them from predominantly the male species.

Stilettos

There are certain words men typically don’t use, and one of them is “delicious“.  Well I can tell you I have heard this word to describe my shoes umpteen times in the last week.  Who knew shoes could be termed as delicious!  Or that men even looked at shoes.    (Not quite what I had in mind when I bought them.)

Anyway, I had to have my nails done and of course I thought I would play with the RED.  I usually stick with a traditional French manicure but I thought I’d be a little more daring this time.

Now I need to buy a new outfit to bring it all together…….

Life In The Slow Lane

I found myself having to travel to Umhlanga Rocks this week.  Umhlanga is situated on the east coast of South Africa, just north of Durban, which is about 600km’s from Johannesburg.  Durban is famous for being the largest port in South Africa and also one of our major tourist destinations – mostly due to the beautiful beaches and sub tropical climate.

I had to meet a client who has just spent a a load of money with us and I thought it was good business practice to head on down and at at least shake their hand.  Hopefully they will be spending loads more with us.

I landed at the King Shaka Airport, hired a car from Avis and drove down to Umhlanga, which is about 20km south of the airport.  I pulled into the parking lot at my client as was met by this:

It was a totally different vibe to the the hustle and bustle lifestyle I am used to in Johannesburg.  Everyone is very relaxed and generally “chilled”.

I met with my client, took loads of pics of their server rooms for my records and then made my way to the Gateway Hotel.  Checked in and went up to my room.  My room was a little strange – couldn’t decide if the bedroom was in the bathroom, or the bathroom was in the bedroom.  I could step out of bed and then step into the bath.

The hotel was attached to the Gateway shopping center so I tool a walk around after dinner that evening.  Was quite surprised the shops were all open quite late as the shops don’t stay open late in Johannesburg.

Hardly slept that night as there was a car alarm beeping all night.  My morning meeting with my client was cancelled as he had a doctors appointment or something, which meant I could get back to the airport earlier and head back home.

I would love to have spent more time there and at least walked on the beach.  Maybe next time…..

The Three Shag Rule

I came across an interesting article online the other day by a lady called Dorothy Black.  It went on to explain the Three Shag Rule and why it is a good idea.  In case you are not familiar with the term “Shag” – it is British slang for sexual intercourse.

The rule is as follows:
After shagging the object of your sexual affection for the third time in a row, ye shall have a conversation about what ye expectations are regarding fidelity and future shagging arrangements.

The reason why this peaked my interest is because I have just done a Cherries and Bananas post for Ramblings of a Semi-Mad Man about an office affair where the guy wanted to confess his feelings to a woman he was having a fling with at work after 10 months.  They had not had any discussions about feelings or expectations at all as yet.

Now just thinking about it all – it makes a huge amount of sense to have a talk about expectations at certain intervals of a relationship.  And as per the rule, after the third sexual encounter is probably a good place to start.

By this point you know if you you are compatible in the sack and you have a fairly good idea if you want to continue having sex with said person.  And having this talk now is much easier than having it when one of you has very different expectations to the other further down the line.

This is not a conversation about where you see yourselves in 5 years or how many kids you want to have.  This is a basic conversation about agreeing the terms of your current status – i.e. are you just fuck buddies / are you seeing anyone else / where you stand on exclusivity / are you open to looking at where the relationship goes etc.

It is a way of saving yourself some pain down the line and getting everything out in the open upfront.  It doesn’t mean you cant change your mind or feelings down the line but at least you know what yours and your partners expectations are at that time and as you get to know each other better, you can renegotiate the terms.

There is nothing worse than thinking you are an exclusive couple only to find out 6 months down the line that you are not the only one your partner is seeing – especially if you have never spoken about being exclusive.  Exclusivity for a lot of people goes without saying but is not a given in today’s world so rather than being heart broken down the line, why not put it out there right near the beginning and agreeing the terms.

Just sayin’…….

Lady in Red

I am not a shoe person.  My closet consists of about 6-8 pairs of boring every-day type shoes.  I have one or 2 favorites and I tend to wear these every day. And I hate to admit they are all BLACK.

Since I went out and bought my red-mini skirt (and a few more since then) and my stockings and suspenders (which I love by the way and find myself wearing them a few times a week), it has encouraged me to be a little more adventurous with shoes.  I love the way it all makes me feel.  I feel empowered as a woman and extremely sexy.

And of course let’s not forget the aim of annoying my sons – they hate it when I wear my new mini skirts and stockings.  This is not the mom they are used to.

So I have been looking out for shoes that scream SEXY!  And what better than a pair of RED STILETTO’s (or Red Hooker shoes as I call them).

I have been shopping and this is what I found:

The first pair I tried on.  Loved them but didn’t buy them.  Had second thoughts about it all.  Got home and regretted not buying them.  Then found these:
Liked them even more – especially with the ankle straps – resembling the shoes in my header on my blog.  But they didn’t have my size – these were slightly too small for me.
And eventually ended up buying these:
Now I just have to learn to walk in them without breaking my ankles!

Vintage Friday #1

It is the first week of my new look and thought it would be great to have a Vintage Friday post and post pictures of something vintage. Vintage being described as “Characterized by excellence, maturity, and enduring appeal; classic“.  It is not necessarily aimed at men or women and I hope it appeals to both sexes.

My first choice is of a pin up girl who is aptly dressed in an outfit covered in Cherries.

Hope you enjoy……..

I’m Not A Virgin Anymore!

It is my 2nd bloggerversary and I now consider myself as an experienced blogger.  I am not a virgin at this blogging thing anymore.  The last 2 years have been been absolutely amazing.  I have made some awesome friends all over the world and I would like nothing more than to do a blogger trip and meet some of you amazing people.   I have also grown in so many ways over the last 2 years.  I have found the path to rediscovering myself and I have my blog to thank for it.

I bragged about 6 weeks ago that I had just reached 100,000 pageviews and since then I have hit well over 200,000 pageviews.  I have spent many hours trying to understand the stats and analytics and read so many articles and other blogs about what influences the stats and what to believe or not believe.  For almost 2 years, most of my viewership were based in the USA.  Currently France tops the list and Germany is second on the list with viewers from the USA now in 3rd place. I have no idea what influences this and I finally give up and accept the stats for what they are.  Deep down inside I hope the numbers are correct but to be perfectly honest, as much as I love you all, I blog for myself and am grateful to anyone who takes the time out of their day to read my blog.  So a HUGE THANK YOU to all you fellow bloggers and friends and blog surfers.

Hope you have noticed that I have a new look and feel to my blog.  I am sure there will be some tweaking over the next few weeks so please be patient.  Constructive criticism is very welcome so feel free to leave a comment or recommendation.  I will also be introducing some new ideas and hope they go down well with you all.

You will also notice I have a blog roll in the left hand column of other blogs I read and follow.  Please take the time to pop on over to read them all and say hi.  I haven’t always got the time to comment on each of their posts but I read every post they put up.  Some of them have become very close personal friends of mine.

And then there are the tabs under my header – The ABOUT ME tab obviously speaks for itself.  I am also a contributing author to Ramblings of a Semi-Mad Man and these posts are listed under the RAMBLING POSTS tab.  And feel free to contact me via my FACEBOOK or CONTACT ME tabs.  I would love to hear from you all.

So let me know what you think of the new look.
